Project Data
This is a collection of spatial data files for the northeast Washington County study area. Files have been collected from various sources, and with various levels of documentation. Most are provided as zip compressed files, although not all are.
As is often the case, most have been supplied with scant documentation, many without .prj files indicating the projection. Generally, they will be in geographic, UTM, Minnesota State Plane, or Washington County coordinates. A common trick is to cast a layer representing the study are boundary into each of these coordinate systems, e.g., 'sbound_geog', 'sbound_UTM15N', and so on. Then, by examining coordinates of provided data, or by displaying them together, you can ascertain and document the coordinate system for provided data.
